Our Team

Jeanice Lee, Executive Director

Jeanice LeeJeanice has extensive knowledge and understanding of the public service interpreting landscape in Scotland. Having worked as a public service interpreter for 18 years, she has achieved the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) in Scottish Law, Health, and Local Government options, and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. After 9 years of working full-time for the City of Edinburgh Council’s Interpretation and Translation Service and its predecessor Lothian Interpreting and Translating Service Trust, Jeanice embarked on a fruitful career in organisational development and strategic development in the third sector working with ethnic minority voluntary organisations and social enterprises. She is currently a Board member of the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition. With a special interest in quality management and process improvement, she is also an EFQM accredited assessor as well as a HMIE Associate Assessor for Community Learning and Development.

The combination of her passion for public service interpreting, social enterprise, and business excellence provides the vision and leadership for Elite Linguists – a driving force to bring positive change to the public service interpreting landscape in Scotland and raise standards on a national scale. As an experienced trainer, she is also committed to improving training and continuing professional development opportunities for public service interpreters.

Team of sessional workers

We have a team of sessional interpreters and translators covering over 30 languages in the East, West and North of Scotland.

All our interpreters and translators are recruited and selected using our stringent recruitment and selection procedure. They have all undergone an enhanced disclosure check to ensure they are suitable to work with people from all walks of life. In addition, they are trained to observe professional ethics to safeguard all parties, especially about the upmost importance of confidentiality and remaining impartial at all times.
